HSBC Insurance has established a joint venture in Malaysia with Jerneh Asia Berhad and the Employees Provident Fund Board of Malaysia (EPF). HSBC Amanah Takaful (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated as part of the HSBC Group's further international expansion of its Takaful (Islamic Insurance) activities.

HSBC Amanah Takaful (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated in 2006, after receiving the approval in principle from Bank Negara Malaysia to form a joint venture takaful company in Malaysia. HSBC Amanah Takaful leverages on HSBC Group's international experience and expertise in Islamic finance in implementing innovative approaches and technologies in developing and offering viable products to Malaysian consumers.

HSBC Amanah Takaful (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. issued its first Takaful certificate, 'Homeowner Takaful', on 11 August 2006. We are committed to providing the highest standards of products and services to our customers and business partners and making Takaful valuable for all Malaysians.
