My name is Jacqueline Zhang. I joined HSBC Insurance in March 2008 to work on a Joint Venture life insurance company in China. Before joining HSBC, I worked for almost 10 years in the leading foreign insurance companies in Shanghai in the areas of IT and business analysis. In my perception, our Company is much more than a famous global brand in the financial industry: it also has a unique corporate culture, especially in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and compliance. The positive reputation of the Company means a lot to me and was a critical factor in my decision to join HSBC Insurance.

I'm now the Assistant Vice President of the Policy Administration department in the Company. My key responsibility is to build up a professional team in our China Joint Venture (JV) such as setting up guidelines, workflow and procedures related to policy administration. We are also responsible for raising the user requirements of the system to meet local compliance and business needs. In addition to this, we actively participate in user acceptance testing of the system to ensure all essential designs of the system are correctly developed. We also assist in the product development process by helping the refinement of contract provisions and setting up the related business rules. As the JV is still in its preparatory stage, the key challenge of our work is to complete all our tasks within a short timeframe and without any compromise in quality. I'm really glad that the team is achieving its goals and I'm very proud of the team spirit I've found here.

Even though I'm new to the Company, I can genuinely see the professionalism, commitment and the passion of the Company to develop its business in an appropriate and sustainable manner. The Company dedicates a lot of effort to creating a caring and friendly environment for staff to work in, for example by encouraging everyone to join local CSR activities like fund-raising programmes for the Sichuan earthquake and visiting deprived students in remote rural areas of Anhui. All these gestures are milestones on the Company's path to creating "The Best Place to Work". Based on my personal experience working at HSBC Insurance, I urge all suitable talents to join HSBC Insurance.
