My name is Adrian Tan and I'm from the HSBC Insurance Singapore office. I graduated from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore with a Bachelor degree in Accountancy. I then joined the Finance department in August 2007 as Finance Manager. In this role, I oversee the General Ledger of the Company as well as local and Head Office management reporting. I also support the half-yearly budgeting process, including coordination with various departments, drafting the management expenses budget and ensuring the accuracy of submissions.

Prior to joining the Company, I worked as an external auditor in one of the 'Big Four' accounting firms for five years, specialising in insurance audits, and subsequently as an internal auditor with a global shipping company for two and a half years. My last position at both companies was Audit Manager and I am a Certified Public Accountant with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore.

In addition to the global presence and brand name of HSBC, what motivated me to join HSBC Insurance was its aggressive growth plans within the region to increase the contribution of its insurance operations to the Group's overall profits. To achieve this, one of the Company's objectives is to develop its Singapore operations to be a significant player in the local insurance market. I want to be part of the team that makes this happen as I believe the experience will add significant value to my personal career development.
